How to last longer in bed 101
It's no secret that men have an easier time reaching orgasm than women. They respond to sexual stimulation differently than women, add that to the fact that premature ejaculation is the most common sexual disorder in men under 40. It’s no wonder women tend to find themselves unsatisfied in the bedroom. It can be a real bummer to realize his fun is over before yours even started. While you could get him to finish the job by some other means, another solution is to help him last longer in bed.
Here are 4 methods to try:
1. Edging
Edging is the process of getting right up to the edge of an orgasm, then stopping yourself to cool down before starting up again. To last longer during sex, have your man repeat the edging process as many times as possible. When he feels like he’s about to come, have him stop and wait a few seconds then start up again. Edging relies heavily on self-control. It's up to indivdual to know the right time to stop all sexual stimulation to take a short breather.
2. Add the foreplay
We talk about foreplay a lot, but did you know adding a round of vigorous foreplay before sex can help him last longer? Adding foreplay can increase the number of orgasms in a session as well. The male sexual response system consists of four phases: Excitement which is the rising level of stimulation, Plateau which is the sustained level of excitement, Orgasm and finally resolution, which is the relaxation period. After orgasm men go into the resolution phase where their body goes through a forced time out before they will become aroused again. Getting him to orgasm during foreplay will allow for enough build-up time to prepare for the main event. Which means longer sex and plenty of time for more orgasms...
3. Try pelvic floor exercises
You've probably heard of Kegels, which are exercises that help strengthen your pelvic floor muscles and improve your chances of orgasm. It turns out, these same exercises can help treat premature ejaculation in men. Research presented at the European Association of Urology in Stockholm found that simple pelvic floor exercises improved premature ejaculation rates after 12 weeks in most men. Try doing pelvic floor exercises together by tightening and hold your pelvic floor muscles for five seconds (count 1 one thousand, 2 one thousand, 3 one thousand, 4 one thousand, 5 one thousand) and release. Another way to tighten your pelvic floor muscles is to squeeze the muscles in your anus (like you are holding a bowel movement). Relax your pelvic floor muscles after each attempt.
4. Switch up the position
If your guy has a go-to move that always gets him off, switch it up. Cosmopolitan suggests missionary or girl-on-top, which can help many men delay the finale. Also when you change positions, it requires you to take a bit of a break and slow your movements. You're not getting as much stimulation during the transition, so it allows your body to cool off and get further from orgasm.
